September 30th to October 2nd Chestermere will be celebrating Alberta’s Arts Days. You can register into various free Dance and Art workshops scheduled both Saturday and Sunday at the rec center by calling 403-207-7060. There are live performance venues at Boston Pizza and the British Isles Fish and Chips! Literature, film, poetry readings and a National Film Board Presentation of Mr. Leonard Cohen in our local Library! Several local Artisans are hosting open houses throughout the town to display their Artwork! Twelve Studios will be opening their doors in the Art Walk from 10-4pm Oct 1st and 10-2pm Oct 2nd. This annual event is hosted by the Chestermere Agricultural Society and includes activities such as the “Country Fair Parade” which begins at 9:30 Saturday morning. Make sure the kids bring a goodie bag as there is no shortage of goodies thrown along the route! This is a fun day for the whole family to come out and enjoy! There will be tables of arts, crafts, and edibles displayed just to name a few categories from the Red Ribbon Competition which will be judged Friday evening! The kids will be sure to enjoy the variety of activities in the “Kidzone” such as facepainting, a petting zoo, crafts, mini golf, pony rides and more! Watch a baseball game or sip a cold one in the beer gardens while taking in the entertainment! This event takes place at our Recreation Complex with the exception of the parade route which begins from the Chestermere Lake Middle School on Lakeview Drive and runs along West Chestermere Drive to finish off at the Rec Centre.
